MSM is a grant-making trust, founded in 1903 as the Missionary School of Medicine. Its purpose is helping to train Christians working to improve conditions in needy communities through both medical and spiritual ministry – not one without the other.
The book Touching the Ends of the Earth, by Canon Philip Price, tells the history of MSM’s first 100 years, and explains how it changed from a school to a grant-making trust.
MSM supports Christian workers – both local and expatriate – in obtaining qualifications in personal, child, community and emergency healthcare, in order to help the work of Christian groups with whom they serve, with the same calling as MSM’s motto: Preach and Heal. |
