Member Benefits

Community Health Global Network aims to dig around the roots so that problems can be solved:

  • We aim to improve the health and well-being of marginalized people by improving the quality of programmes that work with them.
  •  We will build linkages between Network members, both individuals and organisations.
  • We will promote the sharing of information, experience, skills and positive attitudes between members and so enhance the quality of programmes.
  • We will encourage community health programmes to work alongside private, charitable, national and international health structures.
  • We will help to create, through local forums, a critical mass of high quality faith based programmes that can speak strategically and credibly in district, national, regional and global health arenas.

HOW WE WORK

We work through our interactive website and through clusters of programmes in different countries.

Key players include?

Topic Convenors
- who keep each community health topic on the website fresh, up-to date and relevant.

Regional consultants
- from a wide variety of programmes and institutions, who are able to mentor and teach.

Geographical representatives
- who can coordinate network activities in countries and regions.

Hub projects
- centres of excellence where Network members can catch the vision and learn good practice in community health care.

Where are we now?

We have found widespread support for our vision, gathered a team, set up an International Advisory Group and revised our 440-page community health care manual.

This website www.chgn.org on all aspects of community-based health care, was launched in May 2006. We are planning our first country cluster of programmes. However this network depends on as many individuals and programmes as possible joining together and learning from each other.
